Sarah Jessica Parker Launching Shoe Line

Carrie Bradshaw knows shoes. So it only makes sense that fashion icon, and former star of “Sex And The City” fame, Sarah Jessica Parker, work hand-in-hand with CEO of Manolo Blahnik, George Malkemus to launch her very own line. “In a silly way, I think it’s what people have expected of me because of Carrie Bradshaw,” Parker told Vogue.com.

Parker says she’ll also be working on handbags and trench coats with Malkemus. “Because I got to play that role, I wore a lot of shoes,” Parker said. “And by default I learned an enormous amount. It’s hard to walk away from that.”

Bags and coats will be priced under $700, and will be available in stores 2014.

“It’s sort of soup to nuts. You put on a shoe and you put on a coat and you wear a bag and, on the outside, when you’re walking down the street, they really can tell the same story about yourself,” says Parker.

“We’re putting new colors together that people don’t typically do, just beautiful combinations that you wish existed in your closet,” she says. “And in terms of bags, thinking about that period of the seventies into the eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag.”

Parker started up her clothing collection Bitten in 2007 and has also released a series of fragrances.
