Even those who don’t typically get freaked out at the thought of creepy crawlies are sure to shudder at the thought of this bug that recently appeared in a Chinese province – the largest aquatic insect in the world.
Locals in a village in China’s Sichuan province handed over these “weird insects that resemble giant dragonflies with long teeth” to the Insect Museum of West China, according to reps from the establishment.
Museum researchers believe the bugs to be unusually large Dobsonfly. To put it in perspective, the creatures are large enough to cover the face of a human adult, with the largest one measuring at a scary 8.27-inch wingspan.
