Screaming Driver Races Down Street with Screaming Cop Clinging to Her Hood

This is the kind of scene you expect to see in a screwball comedy, not in real life, but that’s exactly what happened in San Francisco this week.

Bo Mounsombath, 33, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor hit and run after she allegedly struck a traffic officer who was issuing her a citation, then drove 12 blocks with the man on the hood of her car.

According to the San Francisco Examiner, a Department of Parking and Traffic officer was about to issue Mounsombath a ticket when she allegedly tried to run him down. The officer then jumped on the hood of her car to avoid being run over, and held on as Mounsombath fled. She also reportedly hit a motorcycle, but the motorcyclist was not injured.

Eventually Mounsombath got control of her senses and stopped, which was when witness Allison Yates snapped the above photo. She told Hoodline:

I saw her go by and realized there was a guy on the hood on his back, hanging on kind of spread-eagled. She turned right from that far left lane across all lanes of traffic onto Octavia. We caught up to her around Market—she was screaming, he was screaming, it was insane.

This brings up the natural question: What was she thinking?

Mounsombath told KRON that she did not intend to run over the parking enforcement officer, but that she felt she was being sexually harassed when the man asked her to “do things instead of getting a parking citation which led me to believe he was posing as a meter maid.” What those “things” were, she didn’t say.

“I am still shaken up by the whole situation. I was sexually harassed then had a man jump on my car. I never tried to run that meter maid over. It’s clear I’m at a stop in the pic and I made several stops,” Monsoumbath said.

While it’s true that the car is at a stop in the photo, and Yates confirmed “She kept, ‘yelling you’re scaring me,’” Yates also added:

At one point the cars were stopped at the light and she actually hopped out. She was yelling, guy on the car was yelling, motorcycle guy was yelling, and the light turned green and they all got back on and kept moving.

The video above offers the most recent information, but the video from KRON below offers different insight on the event.
