See Felix Baumgartner’s 24-Mile Descent Towards Earth Through His Eyes

Do you remember Felix Baumgartner?

He’s the dude who traveled 24-miles above Earth in a stratospheric ballon and jumped off–breaking the sound barrier on his way down.

New HD footage from Baumgartner’s incredible Red Bull Stratos space jump was just released (as captured by GoPro), and let us tell you, it is everything you imagined it to be: phenomenal and nauseating.

Before leaping off the ledge, the daredevil had a few words for his dispatcher.

“I wish you could see what I can see,” he said. “Sometimes, you have to get up really high to understand how small you are.”

During this feat, Baumgartner set three world records as he plummeted more than 128,000 feet to the ground.

Around about the 5:20 mark, he briefly loses control and starts spinning. Then he claims he’s going to pass out, but luckily he stays alert and gains stability.
