Sharon Osbourne Says She Might Leave America’s Got Talent, Surprises NBC

First it was Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. Now, could it be Sharon Osbourne? Seems that way.

In yet another judging panel scuffle on a reality competition show, Osbourne, long-standing judge on America’s Got Talent, has hinted that she might be leaving the show come next season.

In a tweet that came with no explanation and followed with no elaboration on Tuesday, she wrote “”My darling @HowardStern, money is not the reason I’m not returning to @nbcagt, it’s because …” And that was it. In the next tweet, she had moved on to another topic.

Quite the suspense-queen, isn’t she?

The TV network NBC, which airs the show, might think so since the news came unexpectedly to it. NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said, “This is coming out of context and sort of spontaneously, and we don’t even know what’s going on. And it’s probably much ado about nothing.”

The Associated Press reports “The tweet from Osbourne, co-host of The Talk and wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, appeared to refer to one posted Monday on the account for shock jock [Howard] Stern’s radio show. Stern ‘isn’t sure if he’ll do another season and says Sharon Osbourne may not come back unless she gets more money’ the tweet read.”

Stern joined Osbourne and Howie Mandel as the newest judge on America’s Got Talent this year, in the shows seventh season. The Network moved the production from Los Angeles to New York to accommodate him. Howie Mandel is the show’s third judge.

Representatives for both Osbourne and Stern have not confirmed nor denied any of the rumors.
