Actor Michael Jace was arrested early Tuesday after his wife was found shot to death in the couple’s home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Hyde Park.
“I shot my wife,” Jace told police when he called 911, TMZ reported. News is still being released about the incident this morning, but Jace was apparently instructed by the 911 operator to stay on the phone until police arrived, which he reportedly did. According to the video above, at the time of this broadcast the police had not listened to the 911 tape.
The Los Angeles Times reports that city police arrived at the couple’s home in the Hyde Park neighborhood around 8:30 p.m. to find April Jace, 40, dead inside the home.
Jace was a continually working character actor, most recently seen in episodes of the TV series Southland. He also played in such movies as Forrest Gump and Planet of the Apes, but is best known for his role as Police Officer Julien Lowe, a rookie cop in the gritty FX drama The Shield.He appeared in 89 episodes, starting in 2002, and his character rose to detective before the series ended in 2008.
