Last night’s Grammy Award show was one for the books. From great musical duo performances to well-deserved wins, music’s biggest night delivered a memorable show.
But no award show is complete without a strong focus on what the stars wear to the red carpet, and last night was no exception. What made it even more exciting this year was to see which celebs were going to adhere to the outfit guideline memo sent out a few days prior to the big show, which prohibited showing too much skin or the ever present side-boob or butt-crack that has dominated the show in previous years.
Most starlets stuck to the code, which made this year’s Grammy awards a classy event. From Carrie Underwood, whose Roberto Cavalli gown blew us away, to Rihanna’s custom ruby red Azzedine Alaia gown, we saw proof that leaving things to the imagination can score major fashion points.
Even those who pushed the envelope, ala Katy Perry in her mint green Gucci gown that showed off her ample décolletage, did so while covering up elsewhere, as she did with her long sleeves.
