How Your SmartPhone Can Give You The Scariest Costume

A former NASA engineer has figured out a way to make your Halloween costume at least five times more terrifying, and it’s all thanks to your smartphone.

Costume designer Mark Rober created a line of uniquely brilliant costumes and masks that require a smartphone app to have their full effect. Each shirt and mask designed by Rober comes fitted with a smartphone pocket for the wearer to place their phone in.

If you install your smartphone with the free Digital Dudz app, it will turn your smartphone into a monstrous part of your costume. Adding some animated shifty eyes or slithering maggots might just be the final touch needed to help you win that costume contest this year.

Rober developed the app and costumes after his costume from two years ago went viral, wherein he used two iPads to create the illusion of a gaping wound.

You can view some GIFs of Rober’s masks below, all available for purchase on morphsuits.com. You can also purchase the accompanying app in the iTunes Store or Google Play store.
