James Franco responds to the rumors he’s dating Ashley Benson in a Huffington Post column.
“I also hear that I’ve been dating Selena Gomez, Kristen Stewart and Ashley Benson. Hot damn, am I a lucky guy,” Franco writes. “I wish I had actually gotten closer than the 13th row of the theater in Toronto where Kristen gave her ‘On the Road’ Q and A, but I didn’t; not only did I not talk to her, I didn’t even go to the SoHo house where I supposedly asked her out on a date. As for Gomez and Benson, those are Bieber’s girls and I wouldn’t dare tangle with the Biebs. I heard he wants to kick my ass. Yikes!”
Below is the original story according to RadarOnline:
Besties Selena Gomez and Ashley Benson have finished filming their bad girl flick Spring Breakers (see a sneak peek of the film here). Word is, Ashley badly wanted a role in the movie, which her buddy Selena Gomez orchestrated. Once on set, Ashley began a fling with a guy named Justin Good, who just happens to be tight with Justin Bieber (yes, that Justin Bieber!) who everyone knows is the sweetie of Selena Gomez.
Sounds like everyone ends up happy, right? Not so fast. Apparently, Ashley’s reasons for wanting the role weren’t entirely on the up-and-up. She wanted to act alongside her major crush, actor James Franco. And, when James returned her affections, Ashley dropped Justin Good like a hot tamale. Good was crushed, the Biebs was upset for his friend, and Selena felt used by Ashley, who walked away with a new movie and the guy of her dreams.
Says a source close to the situation, “Selena feels used and kind of punched in the face seeing as though she got Ashley the role and Ashley just used the opportunity to break her friend’s heart.”
Even the New York Post Page Six is reporting Ashley and Franco are now an item.
“The pair were spotted wandering around downtown and in Washington Square Park together earlier this month, and late last week were seen hand-in-hand at the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride.”
Do you think Ashley totally screwed over her BFF Selena, or is this normal dating behavior? We think the gals need to hash things out, as no guy is worth ending a friendship over.
