What do you get when you combine a good cause with delicious treats? A successful fundraiser, of course.
The good people at Sprinkles Cupcakes teamed up with Red Cross for a one-day event to raise money for the Hurricane Sandy relief fund on Monday. People all across the country came out to show their support and lend their help, all while satisfying their sweet tooth.
All the proceeds from the company’s red velvet cupcakes were donated to Red Cross and the final tally at day’s end reached a very sweet $10,000.
This isn’t the first time the yummy cupcake makers have given to Red Cross in times of need. In January 2010 the company raised $20K for the Haiti Relief Fund, and $25K in March of last year to go towards the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund.
Bummed that you missed out? No worries. You can donate to Red Cross at any time of the year, and then go treat yourself for your good deeds at any of the 10 Sprinkles locations. What’s sweeter than that?
