PHOTOS: Wind Blows Baby’s Stroller Onto Subway Tracks

Here are a few photos straight out of any parent’s worst nightmare.

UK police recently released these CCTV images showing the shocking moments when an unattended child’s stroller, with a baby inside, was blown onto a subway’s tracks by an inexplicable gust of wind. Luckily, his mother arrived to save him before the next train could arrive, saving the child’s life.

The near-fatal incident began when a man, presumably the child’s father, left the child in the stroller for a moment while he helped other family members. Though the stroller’s wheels were clearly pointed away from the tracks, a gust of wind that must have been from a train leaving the station, sent the stroller and the helpless child inside on a course for the track.

All of this is captured in the images above, recently released by the British Transport Police. They said they were releasing the images, courtesy of CCTV, to raise awareness of the dangers faced by those involved and because of “fears for the child’s well being.”

“This was a frightening incident, not just for the scale of the danger the child was exposed to, but also because the woman then put her own life on the line by going onto the tracks,” said Chief Inspector Mark Lawrie.

The incident depicted occurred around 7:30 pm on Wednesday, July 23 in London at the Goodge Street Station.
