Teacher Says Four-Year-Old Is Evil for Being Left-Handed, Sends Hateful Note Home

A long time ago, people who were left-handed were looked down on by society. It was so frowned upon that many left-handed people were taught—or rather forced—to use their non-dominant right hand instead. You’d think that this outdated idea is far in the past, but one new shocking report from a preschool in Oklahoma says otherwise.

Alisha Sands is claiming that her four-year-old child, a boy named Zayde, was sent home from school with a nasty note from his teacher. Zayde is left-handed, and allegedly his teacher wrote that left-handed children are “unlucky,” “evil” and “sinister.”

According to Sands her son was made to complete his classwork with his right hand. The teacher allegedly told him to stop using his left hand because “that’s the hand Satan uses.”

Sands said that she first noticed that he was using his right hand while doing homework.

“I just asked, ‘Is there anything his teachers ever asked about his hands?’” Sands told KFOR news. “And he raises this one and says, ‘This one’s bad.’”

That’s when Sands contacted the teacher, and received the disturbing note in response.

Despite bringing the issue to the school superintendent, Sands claims that no action has been taken to discipline the teacher for the hate-filled note.

When reached for comment by the New York Daily News, Superintendent Tony Dean said that the school was “definitely looking into it.”
