What do you get when a terrier rottweiler mix and have puppies? Some people call them “Pittweilers” but for the photos above there’s a different moniker: when a West Highland Terrier mixed with a Rottweiler they created the ridiculously adorable “Wotties.”
Needless to say, this is a breed you won’t see too often at your local dog park:.
The owner, Teresa Patterson, from Yorkshire in the UK (owner of both Joey the terrier and Zara the Rottweiler) was surprised when she discovered her two pets had mated and said she was unaware it had even happened until the puppies were born.
“I was completely shocked,” Patterson told the Daily Mail. “I didn’t think nature would let this happen but at some point it did. The puppies have a lovely temperament like their parents. They are high maintenance as they want attention all the time. One of the puppies, Sparkie, which our son is having, follows me everywhere I go. But this won’t happen again – Joey will be going to the vets soon.”
As for the Wotties, the British Kennel Club was equally surprised by Zara’s litter. “We can never say it has never happened, but this is the first time we’ve come across it,” the organization said.
