In this shocking video obtained by the Austin American-Statesman, a trooper was caught on his squad car dashcam using excessive force to subdue a motorcyclist. The incident occurred in December, 2012 has recently surfaced and begun to go viral online.
The trooper was identified as Abraham Martinez, who works for the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The video shows Martinez join in the pursuit of a motorcyclist who had allegedly run a stop sign and refused to pull over. Martinez fires his gun from inside his vehicle four times while in pursuit, striking the rider at least once in the thigh.
After the driver pulls his bike to the side of the road, the trooper exists his vehicle and proceeds to violently dropkick him to the ground.
Apparently Martinez was given a three-day suspension for violating excessive force regulations.
