The Unseen Face of Methamphetamine Use — One Man’s Troubling Story

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, methamphetamine use is nine times high for men in the gay community than for the rest of society. For 10 years, from 1990 to 2000, crystal meth became the main illicit drug used by urban gay men.

In the video above, you’ll meet Courtney, an HIV-positive, African-American gay man who’s currently on government assistance to get by.

Although Courtney hopes to get sober someday, the bleak circumstances he faces makes it difficult to give up the drug.
