Texting and driving claims the lives of approximately 11 teenagers every single day. We all know that texting and driving is unsafe and illegal, yet it is seen happening everywhere on the road.
Responsible Young Drivers (RYD) has come up with a video on their YouTube channel that puts texting and driving to the test.
Belgian drivers were instructed to take their driving exam, but with a little twist: they had to prove they were able to use their phones while driving, in order to attain their license. The test takers looked distressed when the instructor announced the new rule, but he showed them the fake written document and encouraged them to start their engines.
The students were unaware that they were being filmed and their raw reactions were caught on video.
When they began their course, a sentence was read aloud for them to text while in motion. The results were frightening, to say the least.
RYD claims that it is impossible to text and drive and urges others to share this video to highlight the dangers that could arise from doing so.
