These Rural Kenyan Farmers Don’t Make Much for a Living, But They Are Happy

It really doesn’t take much to make a happy life. For the people living in a rural village in Kenya, simplicity is key.

The villagers of Nyiakiambi live humble lives. They don’t have much in terms of material possessions.

However, what they do have is a fulfilling purpose.

What is it like to live in a rural Kenyan village? Our travelling bureau BBC Pop Up visited the village of Nyiakiambi to talk to residents about the satisfaction they find in farming, visiting friends and listening to the radio.

In Nyiakiambi, things appear to be centered around making sure everyone is happy and healthy. They have a truly tight knit community.

While outsiders might view them as poor, they are extremely rich in ways we’ll probably never know.
