This Amusement Park Has a ‘Death Simulator’ So You Can Experience What It’s Like to Be Cremated

Thrill rides are meant to trick us into believing we are are in mortal danger, to make our adrenaline levels rise to extreme levels.

If you like the idea of being scared to death, then the Samadhi Game, located at the Window of the World amusement park in Shenzhen, China, is the ride for you.

The Samadhi Game is a “death simulator” that lets riders experience what it’s like to be cremated. After being placed in a coffin, participants are then transported through an incinerator and exposed to hot air (up to 104 degrees) and light to give the “authentic experience of burning.”

When this part of the ride is over, you are then shown a womb projected on the ceiling and are forced to crawl until you reach a white padded area that’s meant to represent an actual womb. This is where you are “reborn.”

It opened in September 2014, and was created by two Chinese philanthropists, Huange Weiping and Ding Rui. They raised more than $65,000 for the Samadhi Game on China’s version of Kickstarter, and went to great lengths to see their vision come to life, including being placed inside an actual incinerator.

Would you ever choose to go through this after-death experience? We surely wouldn’t.
