The Lucky Iron Fish featured in the image above was invented by a Canadian doctor and could soon make iron deficiency a thing of the past. Iron deficiency anemia occurs when your body doesn’t have enough iron.
Dr. Christopher Charles recommends how to use his lucky iron fish:
Boil up water or soup with the iron fish for at least 10 minutes.
That enhances the iron which leaches from it.
You can then take it out. Now add a little lemon juice which is important for the absorption of the iron.
This little fish provides up to 75 percent of an adult’s iron intake needed on a daily basis. It’s reported on the Lucky Iron Fish website, “After just 9 months of using the Lucky Iron Fish every day, we saw a 50% decrease in the incidence of clinical iron deficiency anemia, and an increase in users’ iron levels. And people are feeling the difference. That’s why the Lucky Iron Fish has become an integral part of their lives.”
The BBC reports that in Cambodia, more than 2,500 people are now using the invention. Studies have shown that those who used it for a 12 month period no longer showed signs of anemia.
