Women around the country were frustrated with Walmart after they discovered the company had labeled its collection of adult plus-sized Halloween get ups “Fat Girl Costumes.”
The controversy started when Twitter user Kristyn Washburn and a few others brought the issue to Walmart’s attention. “@Walmart Not sure labeling these as “Fat Girl Costumes” is the best approach. #rude,” Tweeted Washburn.
A spokesman for Walmart told PEOPLE Magazine, “This never should have been on our site. It is unacceptable, and we apologize. We are working to remove it as soon as possible and ensure this never happens again.”
If this makes you irate, you may want to consider shopping on Amazon.
