Get excited, Coldplay fans! The fun new animated video for the band’s single “Hurts Like Heaven” has just been released.
The video for the song, which follows a gang of graffiti artists rebelling against a Major Minus and his regine, was directed by Mark Osborne who has also worked on Kung Fu Panda.
Although this isn’t the first band in recent times to release a fully animated video (Marron 5’s “Payphone” is similar in this respect) what seems to really set the video apart is its 3D quality. In addition, the video is a “prequel to the story of Mylo Xyloto, which will be told in Coldplay’s highly anticipated six-part ‘Mylo Xyloto’ comic book series. The issues will be released on Matt Groening’s Bongo Comics on a monthly basis, beginning in February” reports Pop Crush. The comic series are available for pre-order on the band’s official site.
“Hurts like Heaven” is reportedly the final single from Mylo Xyloto, the band’s fifth studio album.
As for what’s happening for the band in the near future, the guys are going to release a new concert film/live album titled Live 2012, which will be available Nov 20 and premiere on EPIX on Nov 17.
