WATCH: The First Ever Video Footage of the Terrifying Black Seadevil Fish

Researchers at California’s Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute have captured what is very likely the first ever video footage of an extremely rare species of the deep-sea angler fish, known as the Black Seadevil.

As it stands, the deep sea angler is already a seldom seen creature, which makes the video capture of the female Black Seadevil alive and at its natural habitat depth all the more fascinating.

The anglerfish are typically known for their sharp teeth, oversized mouth and the illuminating appendage on their head that helps them lure in prey in the pitch black darkness of the deep sea.This particular species measures to nine centimeters long.
