Do you remember seeing Back to the Future in 1985, where they believed flying cars would be the cars of the future? Some 27 years later, one “hovercraft” is finally making its debut.
Terrafugia has created “the Transition,” a recreational vehicle that takes off and lands similar to a helicopter. It can also hover 10 feet over any surface, and is lifted by ducted fans instead of rotor blades like helicopters have. By far the most cool feature though is it can “transition” between driving and flying.
The Transition is environmentally-friendly, safe, and quiet—and technology designers are improving the design daily.
