Hard-core Beliebers certainly have something to be excited about today. The new video for “As long as you love me,” the latest single from Justin Bieber premiered today and shows the grown-up Biebster dealing with some grown up problems.
The cinematic video opens up with a small dialogue between a love-stricken J.B. and Reservoir Dogs actor Michael Madsen who plays the father of his love interest. Madsen warns Justin to stay far away from his daughter, played by 21 Jump Street’s Chanel Celaya. After trying and failing to convince the overprotective father of his good intentions, the young couple decide to go behind his back and meet at a train station, but get found out and Justin experiences a heart break when he realizes that you don’t always get the girl, when she leaves him beat up and alone in the parking lot.
Grown-up lesson of the day: life’s rough.
Of course there are plenty of dancing and singing scenes too – staples for any of the Biebs’ videos – but the overall sense is a lot grittier than anything we’ve seen from the singer as of yet.
The video was directed by Anthony Mandler and has a cameo by G.O.O.D. Music rapper Big Sean, who features in the single.
Ready to see J.B all grown up? Who isn’t? Check out the video now.
