In her stunning new video for the single “Ride,” Lana Del Rey plays with guns, motorbikes, fire and a Native American headdress. Interested yet?
The 10 minute mini-movie includes a three-minute-long prologue in which Lana narrates her character’s story and explains the thoughts behind the risky, questionable acts she commits throughout the video.
She starts off the monologue-heavy piece by saying: “I was always an usual girl, my mother told me I had a chameleon soul. No moral compass pointing due north, no fixed personality” and adds in a story of heartbreak, “I once had dreams of becoming a beautiful poet. But, upon an unfortunate series of events, saw those dreams dashed and divided like a million stars in the night sky that I wished on, over and over again, sparkling and broken.”
The rest of the video captures her on the road with older men doing very adult things – including getting it on with a guy on a pinball machine.
She concludes the story in the end by saying: “Who are you? Are you in touch with all of your darkest fantasies? Have you created a life for yourself where you’re free to experience them? I have. I am f***ing crazy. But I am free.”
Watch Lana get in touch with her darkest fantasies in the epic video above.
“Ride” will be on the singer’s upcoming album Born To Die:The Paradise Edition which is will be released November 12th.
