WATCH: Rookie Police Officer Issues Dance-Off Street Challenge

A rookie cop doesn’t exactly have the “moves like Jagger,” but he has a great attitude and the confidence to look a little silly while on the job.

J. Krebs, 26, of the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department has made news through a YouTube video, in which he and his partner, Officer Smith, are shown standing outside their KCPD vehicle on the side of a street with some local kids from the neighborhood. The content of the video, which was filmed by a neighbor who happened to be standing by, reminds us what being a great cop is really all about.

The whole thing started when the cops pulled over to interact with the group of kids. Smith offered them Jolly Ranchers if they agreed to dance-off with Krebs.

His light-hearted attempt at break-dancing, moon-walking, and what can only be described as dad-dancing, shows how much he must love his job — and the community he is working for.

His moves were no match for the local talent, but it’s not his dance skills that he wants the kids remember from the encounter.

“When I joined the police force I told them I wanted to build rapport with the community because I feel like if we build rapport with them then they are more likely to call us when they need us,” Krebs said to KSHB-TV.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department posted the video to their Facebook page, and noted that they should probably include a dancing course at the Academy.
