A pair of East Asia’s biggest celebrities tied the knot recently in a lavishly over-the-top wedding that cost a reported whopping $31 million. Chinese actress/singer/model Angela Yeung, who goes by Angelababy online, married actor Huang Xiaoming in a wedding event that put most royal weddings to shame. The duo have been dubbed the “Kim and Kanye” of China.
The ceremony and reception included a 2,000 guest list, a 10-foot-tall wedding cake shaped like a carousel, gift bags that included cell phones, and of course a giant wall of flowers.
To put it in perspective, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West spent only $12 million on their nuptials.
According to Forbes, the pair booked the Shanghai Exhibition Center on October 8th, and had the entire venue decorated with thousands of roses.
The ceremony was also broadcast in a livestream online.
The pair had a pre-wedding photoshoot in Paris, during which Angela posed in multiple Elie Saab couture gowns. For the actual ceremony in Shanghai, the 26-year-old media star wore a custom Dior gown that required 115 feet of ivory satin organza and 165 feet of tulle. The gown featured a 10-foot train.
The bride’s ring is a $1.5 million Jesephine Aigrette Imperiale by Chaumet and features a five-carat pear-shaped diamond.
The couple has been dating since 2009.
