Imagine that you’ve been practicing a dance routine for months and you break your nose in the middle of giving the most stellar performance of your life. Well, that’s exactly what happened to 23-year-old Ekaterina Kondrashina in the middle of the Russian dance competition show called “Dancing.”
Kondrashina’s performance was set to be perfect, and it was all going swimmingly well until she got a little overenthusiastic during her splits. Apparently, she was supposed to swing her head forward, but she did so a little too hard, which resulted in her slamming her face, nose-first, onto the ground.
Somehow, this incredible woman kept it together until the end of her dance routine, but when it ended, she curled over to one side, holding her nose. And there was blood — a good amount of it too.
Kondrashina didn’t stick around to get the judges’ comments, but went to the hospital after the dance. It turned out she had indeed broken her nose. The good news, however, is that she will not be needing any plastic surgery to fix it. The bad news is that she’ll have to hold out a little longer to realize her dream of opening a dance studio.
We can’t help wondering, though: Did she win or did she lose?
