This year, the Walt Disney Company will be celebrating Disneyland’s 60th anniversary. The world-renowned theme park opened in July 17, 1955, and in honor of that momentous occasion the Disney Parks YouTube channel posted this amazing video of Disneyland park construction, which shows the construction of the famed theme park in 1 minute and 7 seconds. Check it out above.
Naturally there will be big events all year, and the Disneyland Resort is pulling out all the stops, refurbishing their already popular attractions, and adding in some new surprises for fans along the way.
During the Diamond Celebration, three new nighttime spectaculars will be making their debut—each showcasing the latest technology, immersive special effects and legendary Disney magic. They include:
Paint the Night – CONCEPT: In Paint the Night, budding artist Mickey Mouse mixes his vivid imagination with Tinker Bell’s magical pixie dust, and in the process, creates a very special paint. With a dip of his brush and a wave of his hand, Mickey conjures up classic Disney visions right before your eyes.
It’s been described as the old Main Street Electrical Parade, but amped-up beyond your imagination, with fantastic floats, unforgettable music, energetic performances, and more than 1.5 million brilliant LED lights to make it shine.
Disneyland Forever – An updated fireworks celebration, with 2 original songs: Its theme “Live the Magic” and its inspiring closing song “Kiss Goodnight,” both written by Disney Legend Richard Sherman.
World of Color—Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney – While World of Color has been at Disney’s California Adventure, this is an update. As they said on the Disney website:
