A recently-opened spa based in Chicago called Mud uses more than, well, mud to help smooth its patrons’ skin. The spa is now offering breast milk facials.
According to Dangerous Minds, the salon acquires its breast milk not from employees but from certified milk banks only. If you weren’t aware these banks existed, don’t feel bad — we didn’t either. Regardless, the banks keep a supply of milk acquired from generous local mothers, who presumably must know their boob juice will end up being rubbed into strangers’ faces.
“I really wanted to come up with something that was quick, effective, that appealed to the urban city girl,” said Shama Patel, the spa’s founder. “There are so many mommy blogs out there that talk about using breast milk to basically help with skin conditions.”
