Regardless of where you live, you’re probably aware of the historic drought we’re struggling with here in Southern California.
As we move into the cooler months, we’re hoping to be alleviated of the issues caused by the drought, and the possibility that 2014 may be an El Niño year gives us hope.
However, although we started the year with strong El Niño predictions, the last few months have thrown all of that into question as the typical telltale signs disappeared in July and much of August. Now that they’re starting to emerge again, and the likelihood is increasing once more.
But what exactly does that mean? What is El Niño and how does it even occur?
