What lengths would you go to in order to pet some cute dogs, and would you go to jail for it?
A man from Ormond Beach, Florida, was arrested after he allegedly became aggressive toward a man and woman who wouldn’t let him pet their dogs. 22-year-old Shae Olea was arrested on battery charges after he reportedly punched the man in the face, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities determined that the victims were carrying groceries while walking their dogs home. Olea approached and asked to pet the dogs.
The man refused, saying that he was worried one of the dogs might bite at strangers.
That’s when they said Olea tried to pet the pooch anyway.
According to deputies who responded to the call, at that point the man stepped between Olea and the dog and Olea punched the man in the face.
Olea fled the scene on a bicycle, but was later apprehended and taken to Volusia County Jail.
When question, Olea said he “did not batterize anybody,” and claimed that he had consumed three beers but “wasn’t drunk.”
