If you aren’t already aware, some babies are actually born with tails. The most common practice in the United States is to quickly remove the tail and act like it never happened.
In some other cultures, coming out of the womb with a tail is amazing luck. For example, in India, a baby born with a tail is considered to be the incarnation of the Hindu monkey god Hanuman. He was the beholder of a 13-inch tail and unlimited wisdom.
The question remains, why the heck do human beings sometimes have tails? Is it proof of evolution? The remnants of a twin that was never fully formed? Or just a strange deformity?
The above video attempts to explain.
