Palm Springs was once known as the hot hideaway — in both temperature and popularity — for the Hollywood elite. From Marilyn Monroe to Frank Sinatra and Liberace, the city known for it’s fabulous Mid-Century Modern architecture is teeming with stories of the various celebrities who made it their second home.
Now the city is much more of a tourist destination, thanks to numerous A-list hotels and resorts, a bustling downtown area, a thriving arts and culture scene, and gorgeous sunny weather almost year round. Another big draw in recent years has also been the rising food scene, made even more popular by the Palm Springs Desert Resorts Restaurant Week Association, which hosts the annual Palm Springs Desert Resorts Restaurant Week. This year’s event takes place May 30-June 8, and it allows travelers and locals alike a great opportunity to explore the Coachella Valley. It features exclusive deals at area restaurants, as well as specialty rates, packages, and perks at luxury desert hotels and discounted tickets to popular area attractions.
Celebrating the 2014 Palm Springs Restaurant Week, the organization is offering travelers the chance to win a desert getaway, including meals at participating restaurants and overnight luxury accommodations.
How It Works
From February 25 through April 10, 2014 fans may enter the “Eat. See. Stay. Getaway” sweepstakes by “liking” the Palm Springs Desert Resorts Restaurant Week Facebook page. Participants are entered in a random drawing to win a two-night getaway package for two guests. This includes:
- A two-night stay at the Miramonte Resort & Spa
- Breakfast for two at the property’s Grove Artisan Kitchen
- Lunch for two at Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar
- Dinner for two at Wally’s Desert Turtle
- Two seats on the San Andreas Fault Tour from Desert Adventures-Red Jeep Tours
This package does NOT include airfare if you’re too far to drive to the desert. However, with almost every other expense covered, it could make for a great excuse to get away and experience some of the great life that Palm Springs has to offer.
