Texas Church Mom Believed Toddler Was Possessed by Demons. What She Did Next Would Horrify the Devil

A Texas couple fled to Mexico after a failed attempt to resurrect a starved 2-year-old boy from the dead, police said. They took the body of the deceased child, identified as Benjamin, out of the country five days after he died in their home, which doubled as a church.
“They didn’t give the child any food for about 25 days,” said Balch Springs police Lt. Mark Maret. “They just gave him some water, which ultimately caused the child to die.”
Officers received an anonymous tip March 26 that the toddler had died nearly a week earlier but was not reported, says NBC News.
Investigators have not yet located the parents, but they found a telling video: Footage of “the rising ceremony” appears to shows Aracely Meza, the church’s secretary, praying and speaking in tongues over the toddler’s body, which she anoints with oils, as other congregants gather around.
WARNING: Some viewers may find the video below to be disturbing.

Although Meza is not the child’s mother, she has been charged with injury to a child by omission. She and the child’s parents believed the boy was possessed by demons and that fasting would be the solution to the problem. The 49-year-old is being held on $100,000 bond at the local jail, where records didn’t list an attorney.
