Woman Convicted in Stiletto Heel Killing of Boyfriend During Drunken Argument

HOUSTON (Reuters) – A Texas jury found a woman guilty on Tuesday of beating her boyfriend to death with a 5-1/2-inch spike-heeled stiletto shoe during an argument after an alcohol-fueled night out in June.

Prosecutors said Ana Trujillo, 45, used the shoe to stab University of Houston professor Stefan Andersson, 59, more than a dozen times in the face and head. Lawyers for the woman had said she acted in self-defense against an alcohol-fueled assault.

The jury had been deliberating about two hours before it was announced that a verdict had been reached in the June 9 killing at the victim’s upscale condominium in Houston.

A native of Sweden, Andersson taught at the university’s Center for Nuclear Receptor and Cell Signaling, specializing in women’s reproductive health, the school said.
