Woman Has Body Photoshopped in 18 Countries to Examine Beauty Standards

A study from Online Doctor, an organization based in the United Kingdom, decided to look into how beauty standards differ around the world. The study used one simple photo of a woman in her bra and underwear, and asked graphic designers to photo shop the original to fit their ideal standard of beauty. They asked designers from 18 different countries to participate

The designers were told to make the woman in the photo more attractive to the people of their respective countries.

The service told BuzzFeed:

“Widely held perceptions of beauty and perfection can have a deep and lasting cultural impact on both women and men. The goal of this project is to better understand potentially unrealistic standards of beauty and to see how such pressures vary around the world.”

Check out how your country perceives beauty in the slideshow above.
