It is supposed to be one of the best nights of your life. A bachelorette party, a day and night filled with all of your closest friends just having a good time. However, things went horribly wrong for one bride-to-be on the night of her bachelorette party.
In a story posted on Cosmopolitan, the Rachelle Friedman describes how her life is seemingly perfect; she has a job she loves, a fiancé she loves and friends she loves by her side. On the night of her bachelorette party Rachelle and her girlfriends got dressed up for a night out on the town. After shaking it out on the dance floor at a few nightclubs they all headed to one of their houses where they let the party continue. However, it wasn’t until they decided to take a dip in the pool that things went horribly wrong.
As Rachelle described it, her and her friends would sometimes playfully push each other into the pool, that night they did just that. The bride to be was pushed into the water by her best friend when she smacked her head on the bottom of the pool. Immediately Rachelle realized that she was paralyzed as she was no longer able to move and couldn’t feel her legs.
After several medical tests doctors told Rachelle, her friends and family that one of her vertebrae went into her spinal cord. She would no longer be able to use her hands, legs or have any feeling from her collarbone down again.
Rachelle postponed her wedding due to the accident but her fiancé Chris has been supportive since day one. She has been attending a rehab facility and although she can still not dress nor bathe herself, Rachelle is staying positive and believes that one day she will be able to walk again.
