It’s one of the worst frustrations ever: You see a super cute bathing suit that looks absolutely perfect in the store photo or hanging on the rack. You take it into the dressing room, it slides on perfectly, and then under the soothing lights — that are intended to make everyone appear just a wee bit better in the clothing — you realize everything is absolutely, horribly, skin-bulging-in-ways-you’ve-never-seen-before, WRONG!
Choosing the right bathing suit for your body isn’t an easy task, but fortunately there are hundreds of styles to fit every body type. The real question is which one is right for you.
That’s where the team at Hot Beauty Health comes in. They created this fun, handy, and really useful infographic to help illustrate the most common body types, and which kinds of bathing suits are the most flattering on those frames. For example, women with an athletic shape should go for frills and gathering to “help create the optical illusion of curves,” but women with that classic hourglass figure should go for a more classic look — as in vintage cuts that would have been popular when having a smaller waist framed by larger hips and bust was all the rage.
“Forget hiding under sarongs or covering up any imagined flaws,” the infographic states. “It’s all about finding the ideal cut and style that will give you that perfect beach body.”
We couldn’t agree more.
