Jonathon Holmes, 35, dragged a 21-year-old woman into some bushes to rape her but ended up getting his butt kicked instead.
The unidentified woman bit his tongue, hit him in the face and punched him during the terrifying ordeal. Needless to say, her brazen actions saved her from harm.
Prior to the attack, Holmes followed the woman, who contacted her partner and put her keys inside her hand to protect herself.
Holmes has now been sentenced to prison for four and half years after the court heard his victim explain what happened:
“My life would have been over – he might as well have killed me right there. I was so terrified but so angry.”
Her testimony proved that he would’ve definitely raped her. If that wasn’t enough Holmes was also caught on CCTV hiding behind walls and watching lone women after spending the afternoon and evening drinking in town. The video showed him stalking his would-be victims through the streets for more than an hour.
The court heard how Holmes pulled the would-be victim into the bushes, got on top of her and said, “you are going to enjoy this.”
After beating Holmes, the victim tried screaming for help. He told her to shut up, put his hand over her face and then forced his tongue into her mouth. That’s when she bit down hard on his tongue and got away.
When Holmes realized passersby had heard the screams, he jumped over some railings as he tried to escape. He was found by police at 1:30 am that night and later told officers in interview he couldn’t remember anything about the assault because he was too drunk. He said he was sorry for his actions.
Well, he’ll be sorry for four and half years in prison!
