Tommitrise Collins of Macon, Georgia was experiencing labor contractions three minutes apart, but that didn’t stop her from taking a college exam online. A photo of 21-year-old Collins in the hospital wearing a medical gown while taking an online psychology test has quickly gone viral.
According to reports from Fox5, Collins went through 20-hours of labor, but opted to take the test if she felt she could ignore the pain she was experiencing.
“It took me four to five hours after the opening of the test to try to put the pain to the side and do it so I would have to do it later and I could enjoy my newborn,” said Collins. “She is my life now, and the way I look at it is, she will always have me to depend on, so my goals will not be put on hold.”
Now that her photo has gone viral, Collins is being praised for her dedication.
Her own sister shared the picture to Facebook with the caption:
Apparently Collins received a B on the test, and she plans on retaking it to help maintain her 3.6 GPA. Collins said she wants to prove that even though she is a young mother, that she will also be a good mother.
Collins is on track to graduate in 2016 from Middle Georgia State University with a degree in Criminal Justice.
